One of the best books on productivity, implementation and leadership

I've read a lot of books about leadership, implementation and productivity. The New Rules of Management trumps them all. Although I loved reading the four hour work week, getting things done and putting first things first.... The New Rules of Management was able to give me a framework that I can apply to myself, my business and my clients. I loved it how Peter Cook suggests that it's our biology that gets in the way of us following through on our intentions and he gives us practical ways to overcome our human limitations. I also love the project methodology and the idea that the mark of a successful quarter, year or decade will be reflected in how many worthwhile projects we implement.

The New RULES of MANAGEMENT - is BRILLIANT!

Cause I'm into achievement and fulfilment and cause I know and respect that Peter Cook continually lives this by implementing projects that matter - his new book THE NEW RULES OF MANAGEMENT was definitely my essential holiday reading last week:) Peters 4 key elements are stuck in my brain and I am already applying them to EVERY project in my life.
One is SUPPORT. He says "You want people who " have your back" supporting your project...They fill in the pieces as you forge ahead and support you from behind. They believe in you and they back you. Equally you want people who "have your front" supporting you. You want scouts infront determining what the terrain looks like. Do you have supporters who have your front? People who have been there and done that, and can show you the way? Do you have people announcing you, letting the world know you are coming?" Yes support is essential for sure.
Love what he also says successful people have in common: "It isn't great products, charismatic leadership, intelligence, resources, or any of the things we normally associate with success. The one critical element to success is the intent, willingness and ability to implement projects that matter....there is an implementation imperative for every one of us. We each have a limited window, and if we want to be successful and leave a legacy, we need to implement much, much more. We need to shift our focus to creating and executing the projects that matter, in our lives as well as at work." Peter has proven this time and time again in his Thought Leader practice and he has become one of the few role models I carefully listen to.
And I love this "So, if more free time, more stuff and more money don't provide fulfilment, what does? Science tells us that the answer is purpose, progress and autonomy. Of course, these all come from implementing projects that matter."

A must read if you make new years resolutions

What I loved most about this book is how you can implement projects that matter on a personal level. In the book Peter Cook not only shows you why implementing projects that matter helps you lead a fulfilling life but shows you how to do it. This is a must read for anyone who sets new years resolutions or challenges for themselves. I highly recommend it for both your personal and professional projects.
